LIBRARY NEWS

Wow!  What a busy week. The kindergarten children finished listening to the tall tale, Library Lil by Suzanne Williams. Since we have finished our Red Clover unit, the first, second and third graders have started reviewing for the end-of-year library assessment.  The fourth graders did an awesome job practicing with the on-line card catalog (OPAC).  The fifth graders have finished the lessons on plagiarism and copyright and have created bibliographies for their American Revolution projects.  The sixth graders have started presenting their Westward Expansion projects, and I have been very impressed so far.  I would like to express a special thank you to all of the families who attended the fun Red Clover Party Night on Thursday; thanks especially to all of our “helpers”.  We are excited to report that the winner of this year’s VT Children’s Choice Award for best picture book is…. Flotsam by David Wiesner.  Happy Mother’s Day… and keep reading.
